Plastic Cameras With Names and Fashion Sense

The White Stripes and Lomography

“Hi, meet Meg and Jack. Meg is a Diana and Jack is a Holga. They’re plastic but not superficial. They’re what dreams are made of as they create surrealistic images. Meg and Jack are audiophiles and have collaborated with The White Stripes. Meg and Jack have also recently revamped their spring/summer look with tinges of red and white in true peppermint-fashion.”

P.S.: Dianas and Holgas are plastic toy cameras that use medium format film. If you still don’t get it, explore the cool link at the start of this post. If you dig them but don’t know where to get medium format film, leave a comment and I’ll share the gospel of good shops to get film from in Singapore.

  1. Lordy! they look really cool! I’ve always wanted a lomo but never acted on it. Do you have one?

  2. I’m obsessed so I have a few lomos! I had all my lomos before I started with digital and they rock. Have any idea which lomo you’re sort of leaning towards?

  3. this is brilliant marketing. in some sense, both “brands” complement each other. i started with lomos as well.=)

  4. Yea it is, but I think more than that, the kind of intangible returns you get from the aesthetics of this camera is ‘giganormous’. The cameras are just so smashing hot they could pass off as fashion accessories, or function as conversation starters.

On another note, I’ve added you to my blogroll.

  5. Hello!

I found your blog when through google, and was wondering whether you’d know where to get Diana+ cameras here in Singapore?

Hope to hear from you soon, thanks!

    Regards,
    Elaine

  6. @elaine You can try calling Objectifs to check if they have. You can get their number from http://www.objectifs.com.sg Good luck!
